About the Team:

The AI Engineering team, comprised of Research, Engineering and Project Management, build AI platforms and tools for employees across Nasdaq. Our specialized team has deployed custom LLM powered Chat, Document Processing, Report Generation and Code Generation tools. AI Engineering is chiefly responsible for developing new features on our internal AI Platforms.

About the Role:

In this role, you will be working on building internal AI tools across our entire business, including Market Platforms, Capital Access Platforms and Anti-Financial Crime. Your main task will be to work on centralized AI Agents for the company, improving the product development cycle, as well as supporting customer success. You will bring an entrepreneurial and product minded spirit to the team. Other key responsibilities include communicating technical project updates to business partners and building evaluations for the tools that you build. Finally, you will have the opportunity to mentor Junior Engineers.

You will be responsible for:

Creating, developing, and testing extensive Large Language Model (LLM) applications, which includes creating evaluation frameworks for these custom solutions

Building tools within the AWS ecosystem, with particular emphasis on Lambda and S3 services

Collaborating closely with Data Science teams to architect and implement AI agent-based systems

What we expect:

A degree in a field related to Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience

At least 3-6 of professional experience within the IT field

Proficiency with Python

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Experience with AWS, LLM Application Development, RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) Pipelines (Preferred)

  • Codes, tests, debugs and implements and maintains software solutions with some assistance on complex development tasks.
  • Supports develops, tests, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities with limited supervision.
  • Develops security solutions for routine assignments progressing to assignments with increasing complexity.
  • Provides application software development services or technical support, typically in a defined project often learning from more experienced peers.
  • Develops program logic for new applications or analyses and modifies logic in existing applications, often learning on the job from more senior colleagues as size of the challenge increases.
  • Modifies existing internal software products to add new functions, adapt to new hardware, improve performance or enhance product usability under limited supervision.
  • Implements and monitors routine system improvements to ensure successful installation and increased efficiency.
  • Ensures that applications are compatible across multiple computing platforms and browsers.

  • Education Required: Degree qualified in a discipline related to Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience Required: At least 3 years
  • Special Qualifications: Knowledge of one or more programming or scripting languages, such as C, C++, C#, .net, Java, Perl, etc., and one or more operating system, such as Windows, Linux/Unix, etc.

The base pay range for this role is $80,000 - $150,900. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual boncommission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
