Title: IT Systems Administrator
Location: Onsite with occasional travel to remote locations
 

About the Role:
We are seeking a hands-on IT Systems Administrator to support and maintain the organization’s technology infrastructure. Reporting to the Director of Technology, this role ensures smooth operation of IT systems, provides technical support for staff, and maintains secure, reliable computing environments. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain servers, workstations, printers, copiers, scanners, and network equipment to ensure reliable performance.

  • Configure and manage user accounts, access permissions, and credentials through Active Directory or similar systems.

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral devices (computers, printers, scanners, phones, projectors, smartboards).

  • Administer network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and cabling infrastructure.

  • Perform system maintenance, software updates, and data backups.

  • Optimize IT processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement best practices.

  • Provide hands-on support to staff across offices, including remote site visits as needed.

  • Run reports on system performance and provide recommendations for enhancements.

  • Develop and deliver end-user training on IT systems and applications.

  • Support cybersecurity and risk mitigation initiatives to ensure systems remain protected from threats.

  • Document issues, resolutions, and procedures to maintain knowledge base and continuity.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree or coursework in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or related technical roles.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365, TCP/IP, and networking fundamentals.

  • Familiarity with multiple operating systems, network devices, and server management.

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills.

  • Comfortable providing support across multiple teams and locations, including on-site travel.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with WordPress or similar content management systems.

  • Hands-on knowledge of cabling (RJ45/RJ11) and basic network setup.

  • Experience supporting hybrid office environments with mixed hardware/software.
