Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Storage Engineer to lead and manage the migration of storage systems during our data center relocation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing storage solutions, ensuring data integrity, and minimizing downtime throughout the migration process. This role requires close collaboration with IT teams, vendors, and third-party service providers to ensure a seamless transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Storage Infrastructure Design & Implementation:
- Design, architect, and deploy storage solutions that align with business requirements and support data center migration objectives.
- Configure and optimize Storage Area Networks (SAN), Network-Attached Storage (NAS), and cloud storage environments.
- Manage and Support fabric Switch (Cisco and Brocade).
- Data Center Migration Planning & Execution:
- Develop comprehensive migration strategies for servers, storage, and network equipment.
- Oversee the physical or virtual migration of storage systems, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption to operations.
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers to facilitate smooth transitions.
- Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
- Monitor storage infrastructure performance and conduct capacity planning to meet current and future needs.
- Implement performance tuning measures to optimize storage systems during and after migration.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain detailed documentation of storage configurations, migration plans, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure all storage solutions comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Involve in problem management and incident correlation on re-occurring issues; suggest and document workarounds and solutions.
- Implement storage encryption, access controls, and data retention policies.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with IT teams to plan and execute storage projects related to data center migration.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for storage-related issues during the migration process.
- Be an escalation point on all storage issues.
- Collaborate with other members of the senior team on design and troubleshooting issues
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in storage engineering or administration.
- Proven experience with data center migrations and storage replication technologies.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SAN, NAS, and cloud storage technologies.
- Knowledge of RAID, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, and NFS/CIFS protocols.
- Analyze logs, diagnose performance bottlenecks, and resolve critical incidents.
- Experience with storage management tools and software.
- Ability to troubleshoot storage performance and connectivity issues.
- Configure and optimize storage replication, deduplication, and compression for efficient data management.
- Strong understanding of data backup and recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization of storage systems.
- Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation purposes.
- Understanding of ITIL processes, change management, and incident response.
Certifications preferred:
- Certifications such as EMC, NetApp, or similar storage-related credentials.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Reliability and commitment to getting the job done (including after hours as required)

- Act as L3 escalation support for complex storage-related issues.
