Location: 100% Onsite - Manhattan, New York, NY 10038
Pay Rate: 41-51/HR W2 (Depending on Experience)
Schedule: 40 hours/week | 4-5 days/week onsite
Equipment: Company-issued laptop provided
Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Technical Designer with strong expertise in intimates to support a fast-paced product development team. This role is a key contributor to the technical design process from development through final fit, ensuring products meet fit, quality, and brand standards. The ideal candidate has experience owning fittings, writing detailed fit comments, and partnering with design teams to maintain product integrity.
Responsibilities:

Own the technical design process from initial development through final production fit.

Analyze and evaluate garments to develop accurate fit specifications and improvements.

Participate in fit sessions and provide precise and actionable fit comments.

Partner with factories to implement pattern corrections and manage sample iterations.

Maintain product integrity and consistency across styles, ensuring design intent is preserved.

Develop and manage technical specification packages, including tech packs and BOMs.

Communicate clearly with vendors and cross-functional teams regarding construction, fit, and grading.

Utilize tools such as Flex PLM, Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and Centric software.
Requirements:
Mandatory:
-
5-7+ years of experience in technical design for apparel, with strong preference for intimates or similar categories.

Proven experience conducting fit sessions and owning the fit process.

Proficiency in writing clear and detailed fit comments and applying pattern corrections.

Expertise in PLM systems (Flex PLM preferred), Adobe Illustrator, and Excel.

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field (or equivalent experience).

Willingness to work onsite in NYC 4-5 days per week.
Preferred:

Training in Centric PLM systems.

Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Strong interpersonal skills; collaborative, empathetic, and proactive.
