Job Description
Our client, a global fintech building order management trading systems, seeks an experienced MySQL DBA. This hire will be responsible for managing and optimizing the database systems to ensure their availability, performance, and security.
Responsibilities will include:
- Install, configure, and maintain MySQL database systems running on RedHat Linux
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries and database configurations for improved efficiency
- Design and implement backup, recovery, and replication strategies for high availability and disaster recovery purposes
- Collaborate with the development team to design and implement database schema, indexes, and data models
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, data integrity, and connectivity
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python or Bash to streamline database administration tasks.
- Perform regular security audits and implement necessary measures to safeguard data
Qualified applicants should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a MySQL DBA, specifically with MySQL 5.7 or 8.0.
- Strong knowledge of RedHat Linux and its administration.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation tasks.
- Experience with database replication and high availability setups.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team
Nice to have:
- Relevant certifications, such as Oracle MySQL Certification, are a plus
- Familiarity with financial systems and the unique requirements of the FinTech industry is a plus
