Position: Project Manager (IT)
Location: Tallahassee, FL (Onsite/Hybrid – Local Preferred)
Duration: 4 Months (ASAP – 06/30/2026) with Possible Renewal

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and manage enterprise-level technology initiatives. This role requires a strong background in software development projects, hardware upgrades, governance, business intelligence, information security, and strategic planning initiatives.

The Project Manager will serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring alignment of requirements, deliverables, and strategic objectives. The candidate must have hands-on experience working within Agile frameworks and managing backlogs using Azure DevOps or GitHub.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead IT projects including software development, hardware replacements, data migrations, governance, and strategic initiatives

• Manage project budgets using Earned Value Management (EVM), CPI, and SPI metrics

• Develop project plans using Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar tools

• Operate within Agile frameworks (Scrum & Feature Driven Design)

• Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements

• Create and manage user stories and acceptance criteria in Azure DevOps or GitHub

• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and requirement validation sessions

• Develop UML, BPMN, and process flow diagrams

• Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

• Maintain risk registers and mitigation strategies

• Ensure adherence to PMBOK and PMI best practices

• Collaborate with Business Analysts and technical teams for solution delivery

• Ensure compliance with FDACS and State of Florida project governance standards

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager

• Experience managing software development, hardware upgrades, and data migration projects

• Strong experience in requirements gathering and user story documentation

• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub backlog management

• Experience creating and executing UAT test cases

• Strong Agile experience (Scrum, Feature Driven Design)

• Experience with Earned Value, CPI, SPI, and budget tracking

• Experience using Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar tools

• BI reporting experience (Power BI, Tableau)

• Strong leadership and cross-functional team management skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in government/public sector environments

• PMP, CSM, CBAP, PMI-PBA, CCMP, or ITIL certifications

• Experience in business process modeling and improvement

• Cloud computing and enterprise architecture exposure

• Vendor management experience

• Experience drafting legislative budget requests
