Job Summary:

As an Automation Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will have the opportunity to work on world-class projects in a dynamic and innovative environment. You will contribute significantly to developing advanced automation solutions such as labeling, capping and liquid dispensing that strictly adhere to industry standards and exceed customer expectations. Responsibilities:
  • Develop and support business and scientific applications and software.
  • Specify, develop, unit test, and implement new software programs and program changes.
  • Build project-specific documentation as required by ISO and FDA standards.
  • Develop end-user documentation and test scripts.
  • Manage customer expectations and deliver software products within ambitious timelines.
  • Interview internal customers to define requirements and build design and technical specifications.
  • Innovate and improve automation solutions continuously.
  • Solve sophisticated control system issues.
  • Support the development of assembly procedures for new product launches and automation upgrades and solutions.
  • Manage automation improvement projects, equipment modifications, and upgrades.
  • Hands on experience in equipment assembly and reliability.

Essential Functions:

Work as part of a project team to provide effective automation and software solutions within given constraints such as timelines and budgets. Estimate costs and work plans for responsible tasks and modules. Lead and manage tasks independently within a project.

Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or Information Technology.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on automation development experience.
  • Proven understanding of object-oriented programming.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with C#, .NET, NetCore MS SQL, PowerShell, XAML, Crystal/Microsoft Reporting, or equivalent software.
  • Desired: Microsoft certifications for developers, Tecan Scripting certification, hands-on experience with various programming controls, and experience with manufacturing automation.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $91,700.00-$137,525.00.
