Position: SSIS Developer
Location: India (Remote)
Duration: 6+ Months contract
Job Summary:
  • The SSIS Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). This role involves working closely with business analysts, data architects, and stakeholders to integrate, transform, and manage enterprise data across multiple systems to support business intelligence and reporting needs.
  • Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement ETL solutions using SSIS to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into data warehouses, data marts, or operational systems.
  • Work with SQL Server (T-SQL) to write complex queries, stored procedures, and functions for data transformation and validation.
  • Analyze and understand source data to ensure data quality and consistency during the ETL process.
  • Develop and maintain ETL workflows, including job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting failures.
  • Optimize and tune SSIS packages for performance and scalability.
  • Perform data profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Implement error handling, logging, and auditing within ETL processes.
  • Support data migration projects and integration between on-premises and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory or AWS Glue).
  • Maintain and document SSIS solutions, including data flow diagrams, mapping documents, and design specifications.
  • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and system integration testing.
  • Provide production support and troubleshooting for ETL processes in scheduled job cycles.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3 8 years of experience in ETL development using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL for query optimization and performance tuning.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts (Star Schema, Snowflake, Fact/Dimension design).
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks and metadata management.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or Power BI is a plus.
  • Experience in version control (e.g., Git, TFS) and DevOps CI/CD pipelines for data deployments.
  • Exposure to Azure Data Factory (ADF), Synapse Analytics, or AWS Redshift preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Certified: Data Engineer Associate or equivalent.
  • Experience in Data Migration, Big Data, or Cloud-based ETL frameworks.
  • Understanding of Informatica, Talend, or other ETL tools (as complementary experience).
