Value of innovation starts here! We are hiring a Section Manager to provide hands-on support for within the Communication Electronics Department (CED), as you will be essential in solving the most challenging problems for space systems.
The chosen individual will provide technical leadership and expertise in communications laboratory activities and on a wide variety of our customers' in CED on RF microwave engineering tasks. Our academic-like collegial atmosphere encourages collaboration among all department members. Aerospace has built collaborative, extensive, and well-established relationships with our national security customers and is growing our civil and commercial portfolio.
This role will be supported 100% on-site daily to our El Segundo, CA campus.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Manage the CED Microwave Laboratory
- Balance technician job loads
- Develop and implement work processes and quality checks
- Develop and implement technician skills development programs
- Develop new customers
- Manage other general laboratory activities
- Provide subject matter expertise in analog and/or microwave electronics, from components to units and systems
- Assist Department Management with other general managerial activities
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering or science discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on Microwave Laboratory experience (time spent obtaining a M.S. or Ph.D. will count toward this)
Experience with microwave measurements using ANY of the following instruments:
- Network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, AWGs
- Experience with data analysis using MATLAB or PYTHON
Experience with ANY of the following programs:
- ADS, AWR Microwave Office, HFSS
- Team leadership, creativity in problem solving and addressing teaming/interpersonal challenges, mentorship activities
- Ability to rapidly grasp new concepts, and excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Willing to travel domestically approximately 10%
- Not having a current security clearance is ACCEPTABLE. This position requires the selected candidate to have the ability to OBTAIN and then MAINTAIN a TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
