Job Description
Overview:
We re seeking a hands-on API Engineering Lead with deep AWS expertise to drive the design, development, and governance of scalable API ecosystems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of cloud-native architecture, security, and insurance platform integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and lifecycle management of RESTful APIs hosted on AWS
Define and enforce API standards, versioning strategies, and monitoring best practices
Collaborate with cloud infrastructure and security teams to ensure secure, scalable delivery
Support seamless integration with internal systems and third-party insurance platforms
Champion API-first development and contribute to enterprise integration strategy
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong hands-on experience with AWS services: API Gateway, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch
Expertise in RESTful API design, documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI), and lifecycle management
Solid understanding of OAuth2, JWT, and other modern API security protocols
Familiarity with insurance data exchange standards and industry-specific workflows
Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for API deployment
Knowledge of event-driven architecture and microservices
Prior experience in large-scale insurance or financial services environments
