    The Salesforce Administrator will work directly for the Salesforce Manager and will collaborate with Office of External Affairs, Development, and Research colleagues to ensure RAND is maximizing efficiency and capitalizing on the full set of features and benefits of Salesforce based on diverse user needs. The Administrator will analyze current practices, including reporting and other business practices, and create plans for improvement that will be reviewed by the Governance Board as appropriate. The analyses will include business cases, costing, and measurement plans.

    The Administrator is directly responsible for the troubleshooting, support, and administration of the Salesforce system. Administration duties include implementing and monitoring practices defined by the Salesforce Governance Board and Executive Committee, as well as ensuring Information Security and regulatory compliance. The Administrator is also responsible for basic system maintenance, such as custom fields, dashboards, reports, flows, page layouts, and to ensure proper usage and integration of Salesforce as a part of a larger enterprise suite of applications. Additionally, the Administrator is responsible for ongoing data maintenance, importing, and strategies.

    The Administrator provides user support, including access, troubleshooting, and training. Other duties of the Administrator include managing third-party applications, testing changes, maintaining system documentation, and researching then implementing best practices.

    Qualifications
    • Hands-on and leadership experience with Salesforce, with 1 - 3 years of Salesforce Administrator experience.
    • Preference to candidates with in-depth knowledge of the Nonprofit Success Pack and implementation of custom fields, custom coding, and integrations.
    • Strong reporting background using standard reporting tools including standard Salesforce reporting functionality, Apsona Multi-Step Reports, Apsona standard ETL tool, Click & Pledge, Soapbox Events, and other third-party applications.
    • Experience updating an existing Salesforce.com configuration to provide solutions for reporting, flow and enhanced functions.
    • Strong problem solving skills with data and software applications.
    • Strong analytic skills demonstrated in process mapping and re-engineering.
    • High-level technical understanding of data systems and integrations.
    • Proven experience leading collaborative efforts with complex business and system requirements across an enterprise comprised of diverse business units.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with information technology professionals as well as very well-educated researchers in various fields.


    Education and Certification Requirements
    • Either Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Analysis, or a related field or experience with Salesforce at a nonprofit is required.
    • Salesforce.com Administrator certification is required.


    Experience
    • Minimum 3 years of data management, business analysis, or information technology experience with 2 or more years working with Salesforce.
    • Requires advanced to expert level of knowledge and understanding of Salesforce and third-party applications.


    Security Clearance

    This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.

    Salary range :

    $95,100 - $144,800

    RAND considers a variety of factors when formulating an offer, including but not limited to, the specific role and associated responsibilities; a candidate's work experience, education/training, skills, expertise; and internal equity.The salary range includes base pay plus RAND's sabbatic pay (which provides additional compensation above base pay when vacation is taken).
