Job Description
ECS is seeking an Oracle Database Engineer to work in our customer's Arlington, VA office.
The Database Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining mission-critical Oracle database systems. You will work closely with development, infrastructure, and cloud teams to ensure the performance, reliability, and security of customer data. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in the Oracle RDBMS and Amazon RDS Oracle.

The Database Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining mission-critical Oracle database systems. You will work closely with development, infrastructure, and cloud teams to ensure the performance, reliability, and security of customer data. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in the Oracle RDBMS and Amazon RDS Oracle.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Administration
- Administer, maintain, and support Oracle databases.
- Implement and manage database backups and recovery.
- Ensure data security and integrity by implementing proper access controls and security policies.
- Database Performance and Optimization
- Troubleshoot and resolve database related issues.
- Monitor databases for performance and security issues.
- Development and Automation
- Develop and maintain PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Assist with creating and maintaining database views.
- Collaborate with application teams to develop database schemas.
- Collaboration and Support
- Work closely with application teams to ensure the performance, reliability, and security of their data.
- Provide database support to various teams throughout the enterprise.
Required Skills
- Ability to Obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- 6+ years of recent experience as a database engineer or database administrator in a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated experience with Amazon RDS Oracle in a federal or highly regulated setting.
- Direct, relevant experience within the last two years.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency with Oracle versions 12c and 19c
- Experience with ETL processes and tools.
- Proficiency with the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
- Proficiency with ServiceNow.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and changing mission requirements.
Desired Skills
- Experience with Oracle WebLogic.
- Experience with the RHEL9 OS.
