Jersey City, NJ: Salary range for the position: 120,000 USD to 145,000 USD. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award.

What You Will Get To Do:
- Implement schema changes in privileged environments
- Notice gaps in documentation and fill them
- Respond to production incidents as part of the on-call rotation
- Draw on your database experience to identify performance problems and make recommendations
- Act as an initial contact for support requests and questions, providing initial troubleshooting and triage
- Establish the database services department's reputation for competence and cooperative spirit within the larger company
What You Will Bring:
- Deep reservoirs of patience and empathy
- Experience administering Linux or other Unix servers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A strong understanding of database fundamentals
- The courage to state the obvious and the grace to do it politely
- Experience using infrastructure provisioning and configuration management tools
- Experience with database monitoring and tuning
- Experience with Oracle 12c and above including SQL scripting, installation, patching, upgrading, and cloning
- Experience with container and pluggable databases
- Proficiency in using SRVCTL and CRSCTL for listeners, adding databases, shutdown/startup
- A capacity for making architecture recommendations
- Experience using Oracle metrics and tools (AWR, etc) to make performance recommendations
- An understanding of query plans
- Experience using Enterprise Manager
- A knowledge of RMAN backup and recovery processes
- Oracle Support experience (SR)
- ASM disk management
