Job Details

Job Title: Chief Financial Officer
Location: Jersey City, New Jersey
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $160000 - $180000 annually
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Requirements:
CPA required (must be transferable to New Jersey).
MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
10-15 years of progressive finance leadership, including executive experience in a public company setting.
Demonstrated success managing IPO processes, audits, and SEC compliance.
Proven track record in investor relations, financial modeling, and capital strategy.
Expertise in banking, credit, grants, and corporate expense management.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, Microsoft 365, and financial reporting systems.
Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
Experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic financial leadership across all aspects of the organization.
Oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and financial reporting functions.
Advise executive leadership and the Board of Directors on financial performance, regulatory compliance, and IPO readiness.
Establish and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and internal reporting systems.
Manage relationships with banks, auditors, investors, and regulatory authorities.
Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) to guide business strategy and resource allocation.
Administer employee benefits, compensation plans, and 401(k) programs in coordination with HR and PEO providers.
Supervise corporate credit, grants, expense management, and invoicing processes.
Support fundraising initiatives, acquisitions, mergers, and exit strategy planning.
Direct audit preparation, SEC compliance activities, and investor communications.
Leverage Microsoft 365 and advanced Excel tools for data-driven decision-making.
Optimize systems, processes, and reporting infrastructure for efficiency and transparency.
Promote a collaborative, results-oriented culture across the finance and leadership teams.
