Description and Requirements

We are hiring a Summer 2025 intern to join our team in Morrisville, NC as a Mechanical Engineer Intern, Server Design. In this role you will work on product design from concept stage to market availability and field sustainability while working alongside experienced engineers. Creativity and attention to detail are essential for success. Faster, smaller, and more energy efficient are constants in the world of server design. This along with evolving technologies make mechanical development of servers always challenging. Our Lenovo servers are used to solve some of humanity's greatest challenges and you will be part of the team that makes that possible.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with an experienced engineer to create parts for a Lenovo server
  • Design structural sheet metal enclosures supporting electronic circuit boards, and creating plastic part designs to support adapter cards
  • Document designs in 2D drawings, and 3D solid models

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Ability to work onsite at our Morrisville, NC location
  • Three-dimensional computer design skills
  • Completed MET AAS courses including CAD I, II, III, Mechanisms, and Intro in Solid Modeling
  • Ability to learn PTC Creo CAD tool and PTC Windchill for CAD data file management
