Job Title: Azure Network / Security specialist III
Location: Open/Remote
Duration: ongoing contract (based on performance)
Rate: $75 - $80/hour
Seeking Azure Infrastructure Specialist with specific networking / security focus to review and propose improvements in our current processes and automating them as much as possible by following our standards / patterns that facilitate the speed-up with stakeholder requirements. Support NSG review / approval process that drive streamlined process (with automation) to remove requirement for manual reviews / approvals to validate compliance with operational and security policies and guidelines.
• Medium-to-High Level of scripting within Azure - PowerShell, Terraform, Python, etc. to query data in Azure and produce reports as well as automate implementation of services
• Azure Network / Security combination skillset with knowledge of implementation of NSGs and ASGs.
• Cloud engineering background, understand major services within Azure, as well as troubleshooting connectivity/infrastructure related issues and performance issues, especially those that are network related
• Seeking someone who can review NSG requests prior to execution and ensure they follow our standards / patterns, and partner with application teams submitting the requests to review when requests don't follow the standard pattern and explain what needs to change
Summary:
The main function of the Security Specialist - Level III is to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information through the design, implementation and management of the enterprise security architecture.
Job Responsibilities:
Works closely with the Information Security Team and the Information Systems department to assure compliance with State and Federal laws and organizational policies and standards.
Oversees the interpretation, development, and implementation of complex information security solutions.
Performs security audits and creates security checklists.
Provides protocol analysis using in-depth knowledge of protocols like TCP/IP, IPX, SNA, H323, SIP, etc.
Performs UNIX, Perl, and NT scripting.
Provides technical direction and implementation support.
Provides systems documentation.
Performs troubleshooting on hardware, IPSEC, LAN/WAN network, and security issues.
Performs vulnerability assessments on networks and systems.
Makes recommendations for improving security and can implement those recommendations.
Recommends standards and policies governing the security of firewall and IDS development, deployment, and operation.
Enforces best practices surrounding security incident response.
Skills/Qualifications:
Knowledge in operating systems such as Unix, NT, XP, Win2000, and 98.
Knowledge in DNS, DHCP, WINS, active directory, group policy.
Ability to demonstrate a high level of integrity and ethics in maintaining confidential information.
May be required to know basic laws and government regulations related to IT security measures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Interpersonal skills to be able to interface effectively with a broad range of contacts from technical staff to senior management.
Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and to work successfully under pressure.
Analytical thinker, with ability to solve problems.
Can deal with ambiguity and requests for change.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline. 8+ years' experience designing, implementing (including installation), managing and operation of Network Appliance systems (i.e., Internet, Net Caching, L-DAP Radius Servers, and Web Proxies). Experience with global, multi-vendor hybrid network environments.
Pay Range: $75 - $80 The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. Our full-time consultants have access to benefits including medical, dental, vision as well as 401K contributions.
