Job Description

We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with strong technical skills in BigQuery, APIs, and web technologies. You will work across business and IT teams to analyze requirements, define data transformations, support reporting needs, and contribute to the rollout of a new multi-phase platform. Healthcare experience is a strong plus.

Notes:

  • New platform rolling out in 4 5 phases over next year.
  • Heavy use of Looker, some Tableau (30%).
  • Strong Web & API understanding required (integration, logging, status checks, communication flows).
  • Experience with JSON/XML parsing
  • Healthcare/claims knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Must be strong technically.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical ability with technical proficiency in data, API, and web technologies. This role involves requirement gathering, data mapping, reporting needs, API collaboration, and cross-team communication within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with business stakeholders and product owners to gather and translate business needs into system requirements.
  • Define and document data analysis and transformation requirements using BigQuery datasets and SQL queries.
  • Develop mock-ups, dashboard layouts, and interactive front-end visualizations to communicate insights.
  • Partner with UI/front-end developers to ensure usability and alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate on API design and integration for web applications.
  • Conduct business process mapping, gap analysis, and impact assessments within insurance/healthcare systems.
  • Support UAT by defining test cases, validating system behavior, and ensuring functional alignment.
  • Act as the bridge between business users and IT, ensuring clarity and technical feasibility.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3 5 years as a Business Systems Analyst (healthcare/insurance strongly preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in BigQuery (mandatory) and SQL for analytics and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies, APIs, and front-end frameworks (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Angular).
  • Experience documenting reporting and dashboarding requirements.
  • Ability to create interactive front-end presentations and mockups.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven problem-solving mindset.
  • Expertise writing BRDs, FRDs, Use Cases, User Stories.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and stakeholder interaction skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Looker/Looker Studio.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum
  • Exposure to API integrations and front-end/back-end data exchange.
  • Experience with stakeholder management, process mapping, and gap analysis within healthcare/insurance.
