Location: Andover (CDP), MA
Salary: $160,000.00 USD Annually - $200,000.00 USD Annually
Description:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Facilities to lead the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of our company's buildings and equipment. This role will play a critical part in shaping future manufacturing sites, overseeing greenfield construction, and ensuring our facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the design, planning, and execution of facility modifications and new construction projects
  • Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Lead site selection and greenfield construction planning in collaboration with engineering, architecture, and technical teams
  • Oversee building space allocation, layout optimization, and long-term facilities planning
  • Evaluate proposals and bids, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships
  • Review drawings and specifications; ensure projects meet budget, schedule, and compliance requirements
  • Conduct site assessments and provide technical expertise to improve operational efficiency
  • Supervise facilities staff to ensure timely preventive maintenance, service requests, and project delivery
  • Provide leadership to Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) teams to maintain safe, compliant work environments
  • Coordinate external contractor services (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems, security, custodial, landscaping, etc.)
  • Develop project scopes, risk assessments, and ensure on-time, on-budget execution
  • Partner with stakeholders to align facilities initiatives with strategic business objectives
Minimum Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive experience managing multi-location facilities in manufacturing, R&D, and administrative environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Proven experience with greenfield construction and new facility development
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, humidity control, ESD compliance)
  • Demonstrated success in facilities design, construction, administration, and maintenance
  • Track record of managing multiple projects concurrently with strong project management and budgeting skills
  • Excellent leadership, team-building, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to identify, resolve, and escalate risks impacting project deliverables
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related discipline
  • Experience in advanced manufacturing or electronics sectors
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive consensus
