Job Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Sr. Modeling and Simulation Space Engineer to be a part of a specialized team that supports the US Space Force in El Segundo, California. The Sr. M&S Space Engineer will be responsible for creating simulations to support the development and deployment of next-generation offensive capabilities to space control systems to achieve space superiority.

Travel: 10% to local sites

Responsibilities for the Sr. Modeling and Simulation Space Engineer:
  • Primary focus is to direct the planning, development, testing, complex simulations that test dynamic capabilities to achieve space superiority
  • Provide oversight to modeling and simulation tool development and evaluate existing tools to assist with analysis of complex, technical problems relating to a wide variety of systems
  • Work with modeling & simulation subject matter experts to develop an integrated approach to execute visions/requirements
  • Work with the customer to identify data requirements pertaining to mission design, CONOPs, and system architectures to address resource allocation and time sensitive artifacts
  • Explore capabilities to deliver or improve large scale simulations to support mission to campaign level of analysis
  • Provide analysis on simulation results to determine engineering recommendations
  • Create documentation and briefings to showcase studies and work to brief the customer
  • Translate user needs into modeling, simulation, and analysis requirements

Qualifications for the Sr. Modeling and Simulation Space Engineer:
  • Clearance: TS/SCI (with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph)
  • BS Degree in relative Information Technology field with 15+ years of experience or a Master's Degree and 7+ years of related experience
  • Strong experience with modeling and simulation software/software development, computational modeling and data analytics (eg: Cameo or similar tools)
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering
  • Must have experience with stakeholder/customer interfacing

Desired Skill:
  • Prior experience in space control mission area or avionics is preferred

Compensation:
  • Salary Range: $190,000 - $220,000+ (based on experience)
