Description: Our client is currently seeking a Modem PHY ASIC Design Engineer. In a multi-site project team, you are working on the design and implementation of mobile baseband physical layer.

Description: Our client is currently seeking a Modem PHY ASIC Design Engineer. In a multi-site project team, you are working on the design and implementation of mobile baseband physical layer.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
- From specification through tape out, implement baseband processing modules in RTL.
- Collaborate with teams of architects and algorithm designers to create microarchitecture.
- Program and design vector processors for DSP algorithms.
- For design specifications and test vectors, collaborate with the systems/algorithm team.
- Plan test strategy and your function coverage with the verification team.
- For performance, area, and power optimizations, use design, simulation, and synthesis.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and/or PhD in Electrical Engineering with desired experience in cellular modem RTL ASIC design and verification, or Vector Processor is preferred.
- Experience with ASIC/VLSI design and a track record of developing complex ASIC functions in successful products.
- Excellent logic design experience including high speed deep sub-micron design and power management/techniques for low power design.
- Experience with DSP hardware implementations including data path and control logic.
- Experience with ASIC design tools for simulation, debugging, synthesis and timing analysis Knowledge of C/C++/systemC and DSP algorithm modeling is a plus.
- Experience with backend interface, DFT and silicon debug is a plus.
- Located in San Diego, CA or Palo Alto, CA
