Senior Technical Lead

This position can have up to 50% travel. When not traveling will work onsite in Chanhassen.

The Senior Technical Lead is responsible for delivering quality service and solutions to clients by understanding client needs and effectively managing technical aspects of projects to successful results and outcomes. Hands-on individual responsible for managing and executing deployment projects with clients, partners, and internal teams.



  • Travel to customer locations as needed to assist in pre-sales, pilot installations, project preparation, planning meetings and closeout reviews as needed and transport a variety of items (e.g., tools, equipment, supplies, etc.)
  • Assist in setting and managing customer expectations to ensure satisfaction and quality deliverables against commitments.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Sales Team in the pricing of specific tasks as it relates to customer RFP, including labor and material estimates.

Project Implementation and Support
  • Manage relationships from a project and technical perspective by establishing effective working relationships with vendors, partners, clients, and internal teams.
  • Coordinate activities between internal and external resources; delegate s workflow, monitors project data, and assists in setting priorities.
  • Assist in developing installation guides to include reviewing and verifying customer written technical instructions and contributes to technical aspects of instructions.
  • Conduct remote and on-site project-specific training for Field Technicians, act as lead on specific projects, and act as installer as a short-term replacement.
  • Review deliverables for completeness and accuracy; partners with Field Technicians to recover required missing pictures or documentations before delivery to the customer.
  • Act as resource for project pilots and installations to verify scope as needed.
  • Partner with internal team and customers to determine best practices for lifts and material ordering, storage, and delivery of required materials and lifts.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials for as needed for either projects or RFPs (examples include: structured cabling, paging systems, and LP cameras).
  • Responsible for reviewing field site survey results for logic, completeness, and accuracy prior to delivery to customer. Leverages this information to formulate material trigger notification for projects.
  • Serves as Tier Two help desk support for Field Technicians or is available for Q&A as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate for and ensure standards around technologies, frameworks, and processes.
  • Knowledgeable on cabling standards, codes, low voltage techniques, and best practices for installations.
  • Understanding certifications, cable and device testing, deliverable documentation, and procurement.
  • Supervise and perform installation and service of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, and various low voltage related systems such as Category 3, Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, and Category 6.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot cabling infrastructure systems and perform repairs as necessary.
  • Grasp on PoE, VOIP phones, patch cabling, cabling etiquette, and as-built documentation.
  • Experience working with commercial wireless systems such as Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, and Ruckus.
  • General understanding of networking, IP based systems, connectivity processes, LAN, and WAN devices.
  • Understanding of installation procedures, wireless design, strategic AP placement, and wireless best practices.
  • Strong understanding of wireless site survey types: Predictive Analysis, and Post Heat Map Validation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network devices such as wireless Client, switches, and hardware components.
  • Background and understanding on how to read blueprints, floorplans, predictive heat maps, surveys, and CAD.
  • Knowledgeable on industry terminology, jargon, brands, tools, and material requirements for surveying and/or installations.
  • Ensure quality and safety guidelines are being followed.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Bachelor s degree in Network Technology or equivalent experience. Experience may be substituted for part of educational qualifications as appropriate.
  • PLT License (or willing to obtain).

  • Three years of progressive experience in technical project deployment and installation, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Understands basic retail functions and the specific organizational functions of the area supported.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to preset complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent time, project management and related organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Superior ability to multi-task, prioritize multiple projects, adjust to changing workflow and workload accordingly.
  • Must be highly motivated and versatile, with the ability to work independently, take initiative, exercise discretion, demonstrate sound judgment, participate as an effective team member, and follow projects through to completion.
  • Ability to be accountable for quality customer service and respond appropriately to a variety of personalities and situations.
  • Ability to maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
