Mid-Level Java Developer

We currently seek a MID LEVEL DEVELOPER to work with an experienced team on development projects and support existing Java applications for the enterprise. The selected person will work with both the development team and business managers to build new functionality, enhancements as well as troubleshoot/triage various system issues as needed.  This position will be based in our corporate office located in the Metro Center business district of Nashville, TN.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop web applications based on user specifications
• Ability to port functionality from existing applications to Spring framework-based application.
• With limited guidance, perform defect correction (analysis, design, code) on less complex issues. Work with teammates to gain understanding of systems while conducting root cause analysis of issues, reviewing new and existing code and/or performing unit testing.
• Should be able to compose SQL queries of varying complexity to store/extract pertinent information from database.
• Creates system documentation/play books and attends requirements, design and code reviews. Receives work packages from manager and/or delegates.
• Understands and assists in gathering and analyzing customer requirements and may respond to application outages following the appropriate processes.
• Ability to adapt and learn technology based on needs of the team/organization

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/related field OR four additional years of related experience in lieu of a degree. Bootcamp training will be considered with relevant experience.
•  3 to 5 years of software engineering/development experience utilizing Java with experience working with Web Services (REST), Spring Framework, JSF or similar framework
•  3+ years’ experience with SQL,HTML, CSS, and Java Script

Preferred:

• 3+ years’ experience in developing/consuming RESTful APIs/services
• 3+ years’ experience integrating with ORM frameworks like Hibernate
• 3+ years’ experience in relational database design and optimization with Oracle and SQL Server
• 3+ years’ experience with Weblogic or Tomcat application servers (or similar)
• Effective testing mindset by outlining different possibilities/use cases
• Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
• Experience working on distributed systems
• Experience using GIT Source Code Control
• Experience developing mobile applications is a plus but not required
• Experience with Low Code platform based development a plus
