Job Title: IT Business Analyst

Job Location: Tampa, FL (primary) / Frisco, TX (secondary) (working PST hours) (not open to non-local candidates)

Job Duration: 6+ Months Contract (Extension Possible or Conversion to Fulltime)


Job Description

General Responsibility:

This position acts as a critical liaison between the company's financial functions including: Corporate Controllership, Regional Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and Business Assurance and the company's IT organization.  The Finance Support team maintains financial systems, supports users of those systems, and assists in financial system initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides first line support to users of financial systems including:
  • Responding to helpdesk queries
  • Providing one-on-one support, explanations, and guidance to users regarding finance operations Triaging data issues, process issues, and user errors prior to escalating to IT
  • Performs financial systems maintenance (e.g. Chart of Accounts, Revaluation rules, open/close periods, alternate reporting hierarchies, etc.) Take the lead role in:
  • Assisting with the business case
  • Planning and monitoring
  • Eliciting requirements
  • Requirements organization
  • Translating and simplifying requirements management and communication Requirements analysis
  • Provides training to various financial users on key systems such as Oracle R12 and Oracle Cloud applications.
  • Monitor inbound/outbound interfaces for data issues, ensuring system synchronization (including some SOX control ownership Liaise with IT and business users to define and prioritize business related issues associated with systems Partner with other system owners to ensure data quality, timing, and financial reporting impacts are fully understood Coordinate user acceptance testing for new system or enhancement releases.
  • This involves assistance with creation of test cases and follow-up to ensure users complete testing per the schedule.

Skills: Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, IT or related field.
  • 3-4 years of experience working within the finance and accounting organization of a large multinational company
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle EBS R12 and Oracle Cloud Hands on experience in BI and Hyperion is preferred
