Job Description

Title: Senior Analog/RF IC Design Engineer
Location: Hillsboro, OR (hybrid)
Duration: FTE

No. of openings: 3

** Candidates must be current US residents with valid work authorization. **

Our client, a leader in the test-and-measurement, wireless communications, and cyber-security industries, has an immediate need for a highly motivated Senior Analog/RF CMOS/BiCMOS Design Engineer to join their team in designing the next generation data convertors for their world class test equipment. This is a small team environment in a great location that is very collaborative with close personal interactions. The selected individual will work with a highly qualified team of engineers, located both locally and abroad.

Your Role
As part of this team, you will have an opportunity to work on many different modules within their devices and to work with the true leaders in the design of world class data convertors. Your tasks will cover the entire spectrum of mixed signal development starting from conceptual work, through the design, layout, and characterization of the devices. Your designs will integrate large high frequency (> 30 GHz) blocks along with complex digital blocks to create our custom System on Chip (SoC) solutions that are exclusively used in the test equipment.

This is what you need to be selected:
  • MS degree in electrical engineering, with 5+ years of experience in IC Design.
  • Thorough understanding of detailed analog circuit design and the ability to design independently various functional blocks.
  • In-depth understanding of BiCMOS and CMOS process technologies.
  • Knowledge in the design and operation of the following analog blocks : low noise high linearity amplifiers and mixers, VCOs, filters, line drivers, power amplifiers, mixed analog / custom digital circuits, basic analog building blocks (op amps, comparators, current sources, current mirrors, voltage references).
  • Good knowledge of RF engineering, specifically transmission lines theory, matching, RF device models.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to European and U.S. locations.
  • Work effectively in a group setting (share expertise, provide and receive feedback, communicate technical issues, work in a team environment to resolve technical issues).
Desirable qualifications - The more of these that you have, the better fit within the team:
  • Good knowledge of the principles of high-speed data converters.
  • Experience with high-speed (> 30 GHz) CML logic design.
  • Understanding of simulation models, design rules, and verification procedures (DRC/LVS/ERC).
  • Experience with design details such as: minimizing device mismatch, noise, signal coupling, ESD, circuit stability.
  • Experience designing analog integrated circuits for a complex mixed signal SoCs from creation into production.
  • Experience with transistor level design tools (Cadence Analog Artist, Explorer), layout tools (Cadence Virtuoso).
  • Experience with system level design tools (e.g. Matlab, Verilog-AMS, etc.).
  • Experience designing in a mixed signal environment.
