Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)
Location: Waukegan, IL(Onsite)/Remote
Contract Type: W2
Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Oracle DBA with strong expertise in Oracle 19c, SAP database administration, and hands-on experience in AMS operations and engineering work. This role combines day-to-day operational support, incident/problem management, and engineering tasks such as automation, optimization, and solution design for enterprise-level environments.

Key Responsibilities
AMS & Operations Support
o Provide 24x7 support for Oracle and SAP databases under AMS model.
o Handle incident, problem, and change management in alignment with ITIL processes.
o Perform health checks, proactive monitoring, and capacity planning.
o Ensure SLAs and KPIs are met for database availability and performance.
Engineering & Project Work
o Design and implement database solutions, including upgrades, migrations, and performance improvements.
o Develop automation scripts for routine DBA tasks and operational efficiency.
o Collaborate with architecture teams to define high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
Core DBA Responsibilities
o Install, configure, and maintain Oracle 19c and SAP databases.
o Perform backup/recovery using RMAN and manage Data Guard configurations.
o Optimize performance through SQL tuning, indexing, and resource management.
o Perform patching (both in-place and out-of-place), upgrades, and new database builds for Oracle 19c.
o Implement and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) monitoring and alerting.
o Manage SAP-related Oracle databases and ensure optimal performance.

Required Qualifications
12+ years of Oracle DBA experience, including 5+ years on Oracle 19c.
Hands-on experience with SAP database administration (SAP on Oracle).
Proven experience in AMS operations, including incident and change management.
Strong knowledge of PL/SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization.
Familiarity with Linux and Windows environments and shell scripting.
Experience with high availability architectures, clustering, and disaster recovery.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
