Network Engineer

About the Role:
Join our dynamic team in support of the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) and the Regional Network Enterprise Center for the National Capital Region (RNEC-NCR). We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with 6-10 years of experience and a CCNP Certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, test, and troubleshoot the RNEC-NCR network infrastructure, including the Installation Campus Area Network (ICAN).
- Respond to critical and VIP AESMP ticket submissions within two hours.
- Support network operations, including hardware and software installations, ensuring compliance with Information Assurance (IA) security requirements.
- Maintain critical components of the ICAN, including LAN, WAN, SONET, and related equipment, on a 24/7 on-call basis.
- Configure and support the use of DOD Common Access Card (CAC) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for user authentication and secure communications.
- Complete equipment installations, movements, additions, and changes to maintain the network ICAN infrastructure.
- Establish communication links to support connectivity and digital communications between Fort Belvoir and offsite Government facilities.
- Implement and maintain software and application configuration management, anti-virus software, security patches, and secure data transmission methods.
Qualifications:
- Security Clearance: Must possess a SECRET security clearance.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience.
- Certifications: CCNP Certification required; CompTIA Security+ preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills (oral and written), in-depth knowledge of communications networks and systems, ability to mentor junior and intermediate engineering team members.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to climb ladders, pull cables, and maintain/dress cabling and equipment in datacenter racks.
