Senior F5 Network Engineer Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior F5 Engineer to oversee a critical migration effort from our end-of-life F5 Viprion load balancers to the new R-series platform. This role involves managing the transition from a legacy non-ACI network environment to a new ACI-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in large-scale, enterprise environments and be adept at managing high-visibility, fast-paced projects.

Senior F5 Network Engineer Key Responsibilities

• Lead the migration from F5 Viprion load balancers to the R-series platform, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
• Design, implement, and manage load balancing and traffic management solutions using F5 technologies in an ACI-based network environment.
• Migrate from Nexus to ACI
• Collaborate with network architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop migration strategies, plans, and timelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues related to F5 load balancing and application delivery.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and availability of network services by leveraging advanced F5 features and capabilities.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, migration plans, and operational procedures.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to F5 and ACI.
• Ensure compliance with corporate security policies and industry standards.

Senior F5 Network Engineer Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 5 years specializing in F5 technologies.
• Proven experience in migrating from F5 Viprion to R-series platforms.
• Extensive Cisco ACI expertise.
• Extensive knowledge of F5 BIG-IP, including LTM, GTM/DNS, ASM, and APM.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI and integrating F5 solutions within an ACI environment.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and application layer protocols.
• Proficient in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience in large-scale, enterprise environments, preferably in a global context.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-visibility, fast-paced projects with competing priorities.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Senior F5 Network Engineer Preferred Skills

• F5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5-CTS) or F5 Certified Solution Expert (F5-CSE) certification.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and hybrid cloud environments.
• Familiarity with network security practices and technologies.
• Experience with network monitoring and performance management tools.
