Backend API Engineer

Title: Backend API Developer
Location: Hybrid is preferred, with 2 days onsite in Memphis, TN. Remote may also be considered.
Target Start Date: ASAP
Type: 12 month contract
Pay Rate: DOE

Role Overview:
This role is responsible for defining, developing, testing, analyzing, and maintaining new and existing software applications in support of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications, as well as researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the project life cycle.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree.
• 3-5 years of professional experience.
• Strong experience with RESTful APIs.
• Professional experience with C#, .NET Core, and Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Experience with AWS Cloud (migrating applications to AWS).
• Background in VB.Net (basic knowledge acceptable).
• Backend experience with SQL Server, including database integration.
• Front-end exposure with ReactJS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Experience working with microservices architecture.
• No OPT candidates.

Nice to Have:

• Additional hands-on experience with .NET Core (current applications are being developed in .NET Core).
• Familiarity with broader .NET frameworks and backend services design.

Responsibilities:

• Define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain new and existing backend services and APIs.
• Support cloud migration initiatives to AWS.
• Collaborate with team members to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend solutions.
• Provide support on SQL Server database integrations and front-end components in ReactJS where required.
• Write, debug, and optimize code for both new and existing applications.
• Assist in defining software requirements, project deliverables, and development timelines.
• Ensure software quality through testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
