Primary skills
7+ years of related experience in the design, maintenance, and administration of NOSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB)
Research, evaluate and recommend NoSQL solutions (existing & emerging) and best use cases for them.
Research, evaluate and recommend NoSQL products and monitoring/management tools.
Working on Agile/Scrum working environment
Experience in managing NOSQL in Azure Cosmos DB environment
Azure Core Fundamentals
Research, evaluate and make available patches, new releases and functionality enhancements.
Assist Development Teams in designing, modeling and validating NoSQL solutions for their applications.
Independently develop and sustain technical knowledge, certifications and skills.
Effectively multi-task handling day-to-day assignments, and work with minimal supervision
Excellent knowledge to manage Database performance tuning, backup and recovery methods.
Deep understanding of Azure eco system tools (BLOB storage, ADF, Data Bricks)
Must have excellent communication (Both verbal/written)
Must be proficient to develop technical documentation/playbooks
Must be an individual contributor to handle all the project deliverables
Additional skills preferred:
MongoDB ATLAS or Datastax Astra is a plus
DevOps Pipeline Development using Jenkins or Ansible or Puppet is a plus
Scripting/Programming experience in Python / Powershell is highly desirable
Previous experience in other database technologies, such as MSSQL, MySQL, Sybase, and Postgres, is a major plus.
Documentation
Database Admin : Azure SQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL/MSSQL (Other RDBMs technologies) is a plus
Security : Encryption; Network security; Network topology
Experience Modernizing / migrating mainframe applications is a plus.
Protocols: HTTP, SSL/TLS, RTP&RTSP, TCP, UDP, IP inc. v6, DNS, Samba, CIFS, SOAP and REST; Peer-to-Peer Networking, Edge Computing
Roles & Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and administer database systems, including base definition, structure, documentation, requirements, operational guidelines, and protection
Develop data models and perform planning of architecture, functions, modules, recovery, standards, and implementation.
Work with internal and external customers to develop new value-added programs and data solutions with existing data warehouse structure.
Analyzes and determines information needs and elements, data relationships and attributes, data flow and storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities.
Understanding of performance tuning concepts on the cloud
Experience in closely working with clients & participating in architecture reviews
Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies.
Participates in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality.
Experience in Data Migration activities is a big plus
