Title:
Senior Radar Engineer
Senior radar engineer providing sensor systems engineering support to Air and Missile Defense customers for new radar system developments as well as upgrades of legacy radar systems across the AMD portfolio. Performs senior level engineering or scientific technical tasks. Must be familiar with a variety of technical skills and of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and independently performs a wide variety of complicated tasks. Will support consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top-level contributor/specialist. As a technical lead, will help facilitate/guide cross-functional area technical support teams assigned to specific projects in conjunction with functional managers.
As the senior technical SME, leading and directing the work of others may be required. Support tasks may also include evaluation of hardware concept development, review of electrical schematic drawings, modeling and simulation development, test planning, test support, data analysis and reporting, as needed. Proactive self-starter with strong analytical, problem solving, communication, interpersonal skills and able to work with a diverse team. This is a direct customer and contractor experts support role. Candidate will mentor junior level engineers.
This position will require overnight travel up to 20% of the time. Secret clearance is required.
Performs senior level engineering or scientific technical tasks. Requires BS in Electrical Engineering with 15 years of experience. An MS may be substituted with 12 years of experience or a PhD with 10 years of experience.
