We need an experienced IBM i (AS400) RPG Programmer Analyst with DB2 and SQL experience to join a team of developers for our long-term client in Florida. This team works on financial, billing, and invoicing applications for this national healthcare firm. They work on tasks and projects related to software development, enhancements, and support in an RDI (rational developer for IBM i environment).
NOTE: This is not a 3rd party software (COTS) shop. We seek candidates with strong application development experience in a large enterprise environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Analyze functional requirements to determine technical design; creating technical specifications for larger-scale projects.
Address production support issues; identifying and resolving at the root cause level
Responsible for the adherence to change controls and change management protocols
Incorporates performance and auditing considerations in delivered applications and development
Ensure that all corporate and IT governance policies and procedures are followed
Identify and suggest new and evolving technologies and provide management with insight and recommendations/improvements to current systems
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or related experience.
Proven experience in full lifecycle applications development (SDLC).
Current programming experience in RPG400/IV, RPG Free, CL, SQL, Embedded SQL, Open Query & ILE
Advanced experience with RPG (ILE/FREE) using Procedures, Service Programs, and Functions.
Minimum 5 years experience with Embedded SQL and Interactive SQL. Experience in creating and utilizing views in development practices.
Experience in advanced DB2 database design, utilizing techniques such as referential integrity, and normalization.
Must be strong in DB2/SQL and can write procedures and explain working with views, and normalization.
Experience with distributed data management (DDM)
Experience with RDI (Rational Developer for IBM)
Change management experience and familiarity with a change management tool such as Turnover
Experience exposing and consuming web services, JSON, and REST APIs a plus
Healthcare EDI (834, 835, 837) experience a plus
