Job Summary
The Generator Deputy Project Engineer supports engineering project execution by providing technical project management, coordinating cross-functional engineering activities, and driving timely resolution of technical challenges. This role ensures that project requirements are communicated clearly and met efficiently, while supporting customer-facing activities and maintaining alignment across engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance to internal Project Management and Customer Applications Engineering teams.
Assist in conducting Customer Kick-Off Meetings (CKOMs) and Design Liaison Meetings (DLMs) with customers and engineering partners.
Review contract documentation and communicate project requirements using internal document control systems.
Identify and mitigate engineering schedule issues to prevent delays in deliverables.
Support engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, supplier, and installation teams to ensure compliance with customer requirements and project objectives.
Track and coordinate vendor documentation and ensure timely submission of required materials.
Monitor technical issues related to generator projects and support resolution efforts across cross-functional teams.
Support technical direction, issue disposition, and alignment of engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
Prior experience supporting engineering design, manufacturing, assembly, installation, or testing activities preferred.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams simultaneously.
Customer-facing experience in a technical capacity is strongly preferred.
Special Requirements
Willingness to travel up to approximately 10% as project needs require.
Ability to work under deadlines and support time-sensitive technical activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of engineering principles, project coordination, and technical problem-solving.
Ability to interpret technical contract requirements and engineering documentation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for customer-facing interactions.
Strong analytical capability with the ability to assess risks and propose effective solutions.
Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, and suppliers.
Ability to apply continuous improvement and process enhancement methods.
High attention to detail, technical rigor, and organizational discipline.
Additional Desired Characteristics
Experience with generator systems, plant system design, or related power generation equipment.
Demonstrated creativity in engineering issue resolution and process development.
Familiarity with EPC customer interactions or large engineered-to-order products.
Work Environment
Based in a regional engineering or operations facility supporting global projects.
Requires collaboration with remote and cross-functional teams.
Occasional travel to customer sites, supplier locations, or project meetings may be required.
