Avanciers are looking for an experienced Python REST API Backend Developer to join our engineering team in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will have 4–5 years of professional experience developing robust backend applications and microservices using Python. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs, integrating with MongoDB databases, and ensuring high code quality through automated testing.

You should be familiar with modern CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, or GKE, and deploying applications in public cloud environments like AWS or Google Cloud Platform. Strong collaboration, Git-based workflow adherence, and attention to detail in testing and code reviews are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable RESTful APIs and backend microservices using Python.

  • Integrate and manage data using MongoDB and pymongo.

  • Implement automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure reliability.

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle including design, coding, testing, and deployment.

  • Work with CI/CD tools and pipelines to streamline development and deployment.

  • Utilize container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, or GKE.

  • Deploy and maintain applications on AWS or Google Cloud Platform cloud platforms.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and perform code reviews using Git.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4–5 years of professional experience in Python backend development.

  • Proven expertise in RESTful API and microservices architecture.

  • Proficient in MongoDB and pymongo.

  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, end-to-end).

  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows.

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, or GKE.

  • Experience deploying applications in AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
