Job Title: DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
Location: Durham, NC (Hybrid)
Employment Type: W2 Only
Duration: 12+ Months
Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and experienced DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our infrastructure and operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems and services. You will work closely with development, QA, and product teams to automate processes, monitor systems, and improve deployment pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability using modern observability tools.
- Develop infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi.
- Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
- Collaborate with development teams to improve system architecture and application performance.
- Ensure security best practices across infrastructure and deployments.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response to ensure high system uptime.
- Continuously improve deployment strategies and reduce mean time to recovery (MTTR).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 11+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or related roles.
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Proficiency in Linux system administration and scripting (Bash, Python, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
- Understanding of networking, security, and system architecture.
- Certifications in cloud technologies (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, etc.).
- Experience with chaos engineering and reliability testing.
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).
- Exposure to Agile and DevSecOps practices.
