Job Details

We are seeking a Linux Patching Specialist with strong Linux OS expertise and a foundational understanding of patching and vulnerability assessment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, disciplined in root cause analysis, and possess a collaborative, team-centric mindset. This role involves working with enterprise patching tools and ensuring system security and compliance through timely patch deployment and vulnerability remediation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform patching activities on Linux systems to maintain security and compliance.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and ensure remediation through patching.
  • Utilize Boeing patching tool (BSA - OpenText) for patch deployment and verification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to schedule and execute patching cycles.
  • Perform disciplined root cause analysis for patching-related issues and document findings.
  • Maintain accurate records of patching activities, compliance status, and audit requirements.
  • Troubleshoot patch failures and coordinate corrective actions with engineering teams.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational security standards and patching policies.
  • Assist in automation of patching processes and reporting where applicable.
  • Provide support during vulnerability management audits and compliance checks.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Linux OS administration and system management.
  • Basic knowledge of patching processes and vulnerability assessment methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Boeing patching tool (BSA - OpenText) or similar enterprise patching solutions.
  • Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot patching-related issues.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and security best practices for patching.
  • Experience with automation tools for patching and reporting is a plus.
