Job Details

A quantitatively driven, independent Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) is looking for a Senior Software/Data Engineer to join its talented and experienced team. You will collaborate directly with Senior Data Scientists, Heads of Engineering, Product Development, and Research to implement internally facing tools and processes to support various investment strategies and research objectives. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work on self-directed and group projects, the willingness to wear multiple hats, and the motivation to contribute to the team's needs.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain tools to support core asset trading and portfolio analysis processes.
  • Build tools to analyze new investment strategies and expand robust simulation tools.
  • Assist in developing tools to streamline the creation of data association mappings between disparate data sets.
  • Research new data source possibilities and test the integration of new sources with existing tools.
  • Support team needs with ad hoc data research.
  • Spearhead data cleaning, organization, and analysis.
  • Lead architectural design initiatives for data and computing needs, focusing on solutions that seamlessly integrate the technology stack.
Abilities
  • Highly driven individual who works well in collaborative and independent environments.
  • Ability to ingest, clean, and validate large data sets.
  • Exceptionally adaptable with new skills and technologies.
  • Experience with market and investment data, as well as APIs, is a plus (e.g., Bloomberg, CRB, Datastream, Refinitiv, LSEG).

Applicable Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a pivotal Software/Data Engineering role, with deep exposure to modern data stacks.
  • Experience with data analysis, data ingestion, and data integration.
Compensation Structure
Compensation is based on various factors, including education, training, and experience. Actual salaries may vary based on qualifications and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary, total compensation may include benefits, a 401(k) retirement plan, and an ongoing share of a team bonus structure.
