- This position will be a part of the Cloud Engineering team and will provide cloud solutions support, design, and development for the company's Public Cloud.
- This is a hands-on engineering and implementation role leveraging Google Cloud Platform and other cloud technologies across our enterprise.
- This team bridges the gap between development and operations by applying a software engineering mindset to system administration and engineering topics.
- Products and/or services you may work with are but not limited to Google Cloud, Python, Git, Terraform, Splunk, and Linux.
- Formulates system scope through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.
- Evaluates and implements changes to existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.
- Reviews flow charts, models, and procedures and feasibility studies to design possible system solutions.
- Reviews technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.
- Collaborates with system analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and to determine project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, systems performance standards, and interfaces.
- Identifies and documents all system constraints, implications and consequences of various proposed system changes.
- Educates end users on system designs and functionalities through creation of training materials and conducting demos.
- Evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshooting problems.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- At least 3 years of experience as a Google Cloud engineer
- 3+ years of experience with AWS
- Experience working with large financial firms preferred
- Experience working with Linux and Windows Operating System
- Demonstrated technical expertise in their field, including experience deploying one or more large-scale cloud-based systems.
- Knowledge of current cloud architecture, best practices, tools, and frameworks as well as emerging technologies, trends, and processes
- Automation experience that includes Python and some Infrastructure as Code languages
- Experience using automation and CI/CD tools such as cloudforms, terraform, puppet, ansible, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub, Git, Maven, Docker, etc.
- Ability to communicate to a broad range of audiences.
- AWS Professional Certification
- Experience with other cloud providers such as MS Azure or Google Cloud
- Experience working in an agile environment.
- Real-world implementation experience of CI/CD, Automation, and cloud-native services
- An understanding of ITIL practices and procedures as it relates to the cloud
