SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
SCDMV EMPLOYS A MULTI-TIERED ARCHITECTURE IN ITS CORE BUSINESS SYSTEMS. THE BUSINESS APPLICATION TIER UTILIZES
MICROFOCUS VISUAL COBOL RUNNING UNDER IIS ON MS WINDOWS 2022 SERVERS. THIS ASSIGNMENT WILL SUPPORT
DEVELOPMENT OF NEW BUSINESS FUNCTIONS AND TROUBLESHOOTING, MODIFICATION, AND ENHANCEMENT OF EXISTING
FUNCTIONS IN THIS ENVIRONMENT WITHIN THE EXISTING SCDMV APPLICATION FRAMEWORK. PROJECTS MAY INCLUDE
BUSINESS LOGIC SUPPORTING ON-LINE SYSTEMS, BATCH PROGRAMMING, DATA EXTRACTION, AND REPORTS INVOLVING ALL
SCDMV BUSINESS AREAS. THIS ENGINEER WILL WORK CLOSELY AND WILL BE INVOLVED WITH BOTH THE UI TIERS WHICH ARE
MS .NET APPLICATIONS (VB.NET, C#.NET) AND THE DATABASE TIERS IN BOTH SQL AND ORACLE. PRODUCTION TROUBLE
SHOOTING SUPPORT WILL BE EXPECTED SO SOME LEVEL OF PRODUCTION SUPPORT EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. THIS
CONTRACTOR WILL BE EXPECTED TO WORK WITH MINIMAL SUPERVISION, WILL BE IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH BUSINESS AREA
SPECIALISTS, DEVELOP TECHNICAL APPROACHES AND DESIGNS, CODE, TEST, AND SUPPORT THESE FUNCTIONS.
COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS MUST BE EXCELLENT
DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. ANALYZE THE SCDMV PHOENIX II, WEB SERVICE, AND BATCH BUSINESS APPLICATIONS
2. TAKE THE LEAD IN ANALYZING AND TROUBLE-SHOOTING ASSIGNED SYSTEM PROBLEMS
3. PROPOSE SOLUTIONS
4. CODE, TEST, PROMOTE, AND INTERACT WITH IMPACTED USERS ENSURING THAT SOLUTION MEETS
REQUIREMENTS.
5. PROVIDE DAILY AND WEEKLY STATUS TO THE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER.

MINIMUM 10 YEARS RELATED EXPERIENCE.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
NOT REQUIRED BUT MS TECHNICAL
CERTIFICATIONS WILL BE FACTORED IN THE
SELECTION PROCESS.

SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGE

Requirements

THIS WILL BE A HYBRID ROLE ALLOWING THE CANDIDATE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR REMOTE WORK. THE INITIAL ENGAGEMENT WILL REQUIRE ON SITE TO WORK WITH SCDMV ENGINEERS AND BUSINESS SPECIALISTS IN A REAL-TIME DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE MODE. SCDMV EXPECTS THIS TO BE A LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP. REGIONAL CANDIDATES WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY (SC, GA, NC).
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. ANALYZE THE SCDMV PHOENIX II, WEB SERVICE, AND BATCH BUSINESS APPLICATIONS

3) 4 years of Application programming against RDBMS (Oracle, SQL).
Preferred Skills
1) 5 of years Ability to write complex queries using SQL for Oracle and MS SQL DB.
2) 2 of years IIS configuration/setup
3) 1 of year Microsoft C# .NET
Required Education
BACHELOR S DEGREE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY RELATED DISCIPLINE WITH 8 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE OR MINIMUM 10 YEARS RELATED EXPERIENCE WITHOUT DEGREE.
Preferred Certifications
1. MS TECHNICAL CERTIFICATIONS WILL BE FACTORED IN THE SELECTION PROCESS.
