Job Description

Join the Risk and Identity (RaIS) team as a Senior Director for Integrated Risk Platform team. We're a Value-Added Services Technology function dedicated to safeguarding the security and integrity of the payments ecosystem. This role is pivotal in shaping the strategy, design, and deployment of risk programs and adapting them as the payment and threat landscapes evolve. The position requires a collaborative leader, who can work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver these programs and ensure they align with Visa's business strategy and its growth.

Essential Functions:
  • Hire, retain and grow high-performing and diverse global engineering teams.
  • Invest in the career development of your employees with a strong focus on mentorship and training.
  • Lead with a strong client focus mindset across organizations.
  • Deliver products with complex technical interdependencies collaborating with cross geographical development and product teams.
  • Collaborate with Product Office, Operations & Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Client Support, and other Product Development teams in developing complete solutions.
  • Build a culture of engineering excellence (quality, security, performance, scalability, availability, resilience etc.) across your own teams and the entire organization.
  • Drive down technical debt and manage costs within your product and organization budgets.
  • Evaluate and develop PoCs for new technologies adopting GenAI
  • Handle routine daily activities such as coordination, coaching, mentoring, recruiting, budgeting, planning, delivery, quality, partner relationships, performance metrics, operations, efficiency, service level management, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with the global product office and Client Services, help to define strategy, and communicate a clear vision for the team.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team of software developers, data engineers, AI & ML experts, test engineers, release engineers.
  • Develop and nurture the engineering team by hiring critical talent, driving retention, motivating, and mentoring staff, and driving career growth for team members. Build an inclusive team culture, and a culture of ownership and accountability.
  • Make a positive impact in RaIS team and foster innovation and explore new technologies such as Gen AI.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. This role does not offer relocation or immigrations support for this role.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 9 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 15+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 15+ years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science/computer engineer or related field
  • Proven experience managing software development teams for enterprise-level, distributed applications using technologies such as Java, Microservices, Hadoop, and Spark.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Experience in setting and tracking technical goals, SLAs, and KPIs.
  • Excellent leadership and team building skills.
  • Experience in navigating complex organizations to identify and meet business and customer needs.
  • Proficiency with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle principles.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale, highly available production software.
  • Strong technical experience in Java/J2EE, Microservices, big data Hadoop ecosystems, open systems, React / Angular JS. Golang experience is a plus.
  • Technical experience with Big Data Technologies, with a focus on Spark with Java or Scala.
  • Expertise with Java 8 or higher, Spring, Spring boot, caching, streaming pipelines.
  • Payment industry experience is a plus.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 181,100 to 299,650 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
