SAP IS-U ABAP Developer

Job Location: Remote
Duration: 12 Months with possibility of extension

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced SAP IS-U ABAP Developer to support the development, customization, and optimization of our SAP for Utilities (IS-U) system. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in ABAP programming within the IS-U environment, particularly in modules like Device Management, Billing, Invoicing, and Customer Service.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and implement custom ABAP programs and enhancements within the SAP IS-U environment.

Work on IS-U specific modules: DM (Device Management), Billing, Invoicing, EDM (Energy Data Management), and CRM Integration.

Develop and enhance IS-U related objects including:

Function Modules

Reports (ALV, classical)

Smart Forms / Adobe Forms

BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, Enhancements

Develop and support Interfaces (IDOCs, BAPIs, ALE, RFCs) with third-party systems.

Support data migration activities using LSMW, BAPIs, or custom programs.

Debug and resolve issues in standard and custom IS-U functionalities.

Collaborate with functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Participate in system upgrades, performance tuning, and code optimization.

Provide technical documentation and support during unit testing, SIT, UAT, and go-live phases.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

3 8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP with focus on SAP IS-U module.

Solid understanding of IS-U data model and process flows.

Experience in ABAP Objects, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms (RICEF).

Familiar with billing schema, rate categories, and utilities-specific master data.

Good knowledge of service orders, meter reading, and device installation processes.

Experience in debugging and performance tuning in ABAP.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
