Job Description
We're seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to handle the installation, programming, and commissioning of fire alarm systems in commercial environments. This role involves working closely with project managers and field teams to ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and within safety standards. If you have strong troubleshooting skills and experience with multiple fire alarm systems, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team with long-term potential.
What You'll Do
  • Install fire alarm cabling and conduit for devices
  • Mount and connect notification and initiating devices
  • Troubleshoot circuit issues such as ground faults and open circuits
  • Program fire panels when adding devices or installing new systems
  • Perform pre-tests to ensure system functionality
  • Complete final inspections with local AHJs
  • Provide customer training when required
  • Coordinate with project managers to resolve issues and report progress
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and attend site meetings as needed
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within allotted labor hours

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience installing and servicing fire alarm systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Experience with systems such as Gamewell FCI, Fire-Lite, and Silent Knight
  • NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and programming skills
  • Effective communication and time management abilities
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have
  • NICET FAS certification
  • Experience in commercial environments such as hospitals, schools, or office buildings
  • Familiarity with fire protection and related technologies

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
