In the role of Geotechnical EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

  • Coordinate field investigations and laboratory testing.
  • Perform geotechnical engineering to support design recommendations for bridge foundations, retaining walls, and earthen embankments for roadways, railroads, dams and levees.
  • Perform geotechnical engineering analyses for the vertical and lateral capacity of deep foundations; slope stability and settlement analyses for roadway and railway embankments; slope stability, settlement and seepage analysis for dams and levees; and subgrade evaluations for roadways and track beds for railroads.
  • Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and memos.
  • Periodically observe the construction of earthwork for roadways, dams and levees; installation of driven piles and drilled shafts.
  • Complete site reconnaissance for the planning of geotechnical investigations.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Iowa transportation projects.
  • MSCE or ongoing coursework toward an MSCE.
  • EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of 'Coordinator' and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
  • Experience with local geology (Nebraska/Iowa).
  • The candidate should be capable of working independently and efficiently under the general supervision of senior-level Geotechnical Engineers.
  • Candidates who are hired will be expected to obtain their PE for career progression.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Experience with MS Office and software applications
