JOB DESCRIPTION
Apex is seeking a dynamic Lead Consultant with strong consultative skills to serve as a Data Scientist and Generative AI Engineer in the US & Canada practice within Apex Systems Solutions Delivery Organization. The role is hands-on and intensely focused on developing advanced deep learning models for real-world Generative AI and NLP initiatives. As a Generative AI Engineer, you will be at the forefront of research and development, focusing on the design and implementation of AI Applications and fine-tuning of LLM models.

RESPONSIBLITIES

• Lead the exploration and application of Large Language Models and Generative AI, venturing into new areas within these fields
• Fluent in Python and able to utilize off the shelf libraries and code as well as to alter and optimize them
• Optimize models for running on embedded hardware or scaling model parallelization on the servers
• Ensure seamless integration with back-end APIs using Azure Functions and various additional Azure services.
• Utilize Azure AI services and Azure Open AI to build intelligent, scalable applications.
• Implement generative AI models using frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph.
• Implement and deploy an object detection using TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffe and other frames works
• Develop and maintain NLP pipelines for risk assessment, threat classification, named entity recognition, information retrieval, summarization etc.
• Implement backend components using Azure AI and Azure OpenAI services to support use cases, including chatbot's recommendation engines.
• Collaborate closely with Data Science and Applications Development teams to align on project goals and technical requirements.
• Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with fine-tuning approaches and training models.
• Lead and contribute to the design and implementation of NLP models and algorithms that can scale across diverse languages and dialects, taking into consideration the linguistic variations and complexities present in different language communities
• Perform experiments and comparative analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of different model architectures and fine-tune hyperparameters for optimal performance
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with internal teams and present solutions to clients
• Demonstrated ability to work in a client-facing capacity, understanding their needs and translating them into technical solutions

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 6+ years of experience writing and deploying production quality data science models in languages such as Python, including 2+ years of experience in building Generative AI applications
• Hands-on technical experience with extensive background in deep learning networks using TensorFlow, Keras, Caffe, or similar
• In-depth experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), with a particular emphasis on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Transformer architectures
• Knowledge of end-to-end applications development (including front-end user interface and back-end development) for implementing Generative AI applications (hands-on experience in Full Stack Applications development preferred).
• Strong innovator who understands the nuances of large language models and in-depth hands-on experience working with LLMs like GPT, LLAMA, BERT, Transformer-based architectures or other (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) variants
• Proficient knowledge of NLP techniques, including tokenization, language modeling, and embeddings
• Strong experience in model fine tuning and performance evaluation
• Experience in developing Gen AI applications using LangChain or LlamaIndex Library
• Familiarity with database management systems, such as Pinecone, Weaviate DB, vector search algorithms, and LLM embedding layers
• Exposure to distributed training and optimization techniques for large-scale machine learning models and GPU accelerators (CUDA or similar)
• Published research in the NLP field is highly desirable but not specifically required, indicating an ability to not only understand but also contribute to cutting-edge research
• Experience in Python and SQL
