The Philadelphia Design Center (PDC) in Ridley Park, PA has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced or Senior Structures and Analysis Engineer.

The PDC supports new and legacy aerospace programs throughout the Boeing enterprise from Boeing Commercial, Boeing Defense, Boeing Space, & Boeing Global Services.

This position is specifically looking for those candidates that have previous experience with stress analysis of mechanical systems and subsystem components

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the system design
  • Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the system design, characteristics, and performance
  • Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution, and analyzes test reports to validate and verify aircraft requirements and specifications
  • Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
  • Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements
  • Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of system designs
  • Works with less experienced engineering teammates to complete tasks with the highest quality through mentoring and design reviews
  • Leads a team of engineers in completing larger statements of work, as required

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Confidential Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Final Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 3+ years of structural analysis engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
  • Level 3: Bachelors' and 5 or Master's and 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 4: Bachelors' and 9 or Master's and 7 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience performing analysis utilizing closed form classical methods and finite element analysis (FEA) on airplane systems installations
  • Familiarization with Boeing tools i.e.: IAS, CSW, GKJoint, IDTAS, DTANAL, LifeWorks, JOLT, etc
  • Experience with common FEM tools such as NASTRAN/Patran, Hypermesh, OptiStruct, and ABAQUS
  • Experience with FAA regulatory certification
  • Experience with the qualification of subsystem components
  • Experience with airplane subsystems such as ECS, Flight Controls, Flight Deck Integration, Hydraulics, Electrical Equipment Installation, Fuel Systems, and Electrical Wiring Installation

Typical education and experience:

Level 3 - Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering (e.g. Bachelor) and 5+ years' related work experience or a Master's and 3+ years or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

Level 4- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering (e.g. Bachelor) and 9+ years' related work experience or a Master's and 7+ years or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

Summary pay range (Level 3): $102,000 - $138,000

Summary pay range (Level 4): $124,100 - $167,900
