Job Title: Information Security Analyst
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46204 (Hybrid local candidates only)
Duration: 8-month contract
Interview Type: Webcam only

Role Overview

You will be working as an Information Security Analyst responsible for auditing and monitoring systems containing confidential information and helping the organization manage IT risk. This includes monitoring logs, supporting security audits, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements, and assisting with security policies, standards, and procedures under the guidance of the Security Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor systems and keep leadership informed of security and confidentiality status.

  • Assist with configuration and monitoring of data, application, network, and IAM logs.

  • Support preparation for federal and state security audits (IRS, SSA, OCSE, FBI, SBOA) and help remediate findings.

  • Develop and maintain information security policies, standards, and SOPs in line with state and federal requirements (e.g., NIST SP 800-53).

  • Recommend security safeguards for new and existing IT systems.

  • Perform periodic security audits to ensure policies are followed and effective.

  • Stay current on laws and changes impacting privacy, network, cloud, and remote access security.

  • Assist with security training and guidance for teams, as needed

Required / Preferred Skills
  • 3+ years working effectively with IT teams (sysadmins, support, developers, end users, management).

  • 3+ years of Network Administration experience (preferred).

  • Security certification preferred (e.g., CISSP, CRISC, CISA, Security+).

  • Experience developing and maintaining information security standards and policies.

  • Ability to understand and apply complex computer logic to security-related work.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO, SOC 2, CIS, Cobit, etc.).

  • Experience in security compliance and auditing; IRS/SSA/HIPAA experience is a plus.

  • Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related technology field preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
