    Salary: $86,000.00 USD Annually - $130,000.00 USD Annually
    Description: Our client is currently seeking a Systems Administrator 4

    Title: Systems Administrator

    Type: Full-Time/Direct-Hire

    Salary: $86K - $130K (DOE)

    Location: Carlsbad, CA (Hybrid position, not full-time remote).

    What you will do in the position:

    • Design/implement complex local and wide-area networks of machines
    • Manage a large, complex site or network
    • Plan the architecture of the systems, considering company needs & growth, for 2 to 5 months ahead
    • Prepare alternate architectures to achieve company needs, with benefit/drawback analysis
    • Keep up to date with possible new architectures that will increase performance and/or capacity, in addition to or in place of current systems
    • Identify/troubleshoot possible or existing inefficiencies and/or problems with current architecture of systems
    • Establish/recommend policies on system use and services
    • Provide technical lead and/or supervises system administrators, system programmers, or others of equivalent seniority
    • Exercise purchasing authority and responsibility for purchase justification
    • Deploy, configure, and maintain new physical and virtual servers
    • Monitor physical and virtual server's security and performance
    • Deploy, configure, and maintain storage architecture (SAN, NAS, DAS, etc.)
    • Security focal for Identity Access Management, Multi-Factor Authentication, Single Sign-On, End-Point Protection, and others as required
    • Ensure adequate Disaster Recovery and Business Continuance plan effectiveness to protect critical data and ensure operational readiness
    • Ensure compliance, patching and SW updates on computing assets
    • Ensure operational readiness of core systems
    • Define and enables configurations and capabilities to support mobile and remote workforce
    • Monitor and manage network performance
    • Ability to work extended hours/after-hours as needed
    • Perform all other job duties as assigned
    What you will need to succeed in this position:

    • 5 years of previous related system administration experience.
    • Extensive programming background in any applicable language (such as C+, C#, SQL, PowerShell...)
    • Previous experience designing and implementing complex local and wide-area networks of machines
    • Expertise with networked/distributed computing environment concepts; for example, ability to use the route command, administer routing and remote access service, and modify deployed group policies
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to write proposals or papers, act as a vendor liaison, make presentations to customers or client audiences or professional peers, and work closely with upper management
    • Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes
    • Familiarity with the principles and practice of system configuration management; experienced using a declarative configuration management system and a broad understanding of the role of desired configuration as part of strategic organizational knowledge
    • A solid understanding of an operating system; understanding of paging and swapping, inter-process communications, devices and what device drivers do, filesystem concepts (inode, clustering, logical partitions), ability to use performance analysis to tune systems
    • A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts, including principles of routing, bridging, and switching, client/ server programming, and the design of consistent network-wide file system layouts
    • Highly experienced in developing, deploying, and maintaining Server and Storage Architectures
