Job Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst (User Experience Researcher)
Location: The position can be 100% remote but preferred to have candidates who can periodically (2 x month) work at San Francisco or Sacramento.
Duration: 1 Year Contract

Assigned Personnel to lead user-testing research to expand and optimize the Client’s Self-Help Guide and other self-help services. Our Client seeks the services of one (1) Sr. Business Systems Analyst consultant to facilitate the user experience, usability, and design research for the Self-Help Guide and other self-help services. This Senior Business Systems Analyst, under the direction of management and staff, will lead user experience research, working with the digital services and self-help teams to identify user needs, define research questions, plan, design, and carry out qualitative and mixed methods studies, synthesize and report findings, and make recommendations based on findings, aimed at improving the depth and breadth of services targeting self-represented users.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Equivalent to possession of a bachelor’s degree, preferably with major coursework in design, UX Design, web analysis, and content strategy. 

  • Proven track record in leading UX, user research, and design initiatives; government agency experience preferred. 

  • Proven track record of organizing and coordinating multiple work activities. 

  • Proven track record of delivering work products on time, on budget, and with a high degree of user satisfaction and quality. 

  • Experienced in research, quantitative and qualitative data, with expertise in usability studies, including the facilitation of user testing, interviews, surveys, and other research methodologies. 

  • Experienced with user-centered design, with expertise in creating and evaluating design solutions. 

  • Experienced with visual design and prototyping. Experienced with the principles and techniques of program design, development, testing, and documentation. 

  • Experienced at establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. 

  • Experienced with heuristic analysis, interaction design, and information architecture as they relate to content strategy. 

  • Knowledge of web technologies, front-end development, and back-end development. 

  • Knowledge of electronic media accessibility (Section 508). 

  • Knowledge of object-oriented design and programming architectures and design patterns. 

  • Knowledge of digital government and digital government strategies. 

  • Ability to identify and evaluate alternative solutions, costs, and benefits. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally, and in writing. 

  • Ability to build coalitions among the various stakeholders using excellent conflict resolution skills, where needed. 

  • Excellent analytical capabilities and the ability to break down complex ideas into manageable pieces. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with both technical and non-technical audiences, including creating and presenting executive summaries to steering committees and other executive-level leadership. 

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Project, and Visio. 

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Dreamweaver. 

  • Proficiency with prototyping tools.

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Recent experience within government agencies or public-sector bodies with projects of a similar type.

  • Experience in leading multiple work groups simultaneously.
