Job Summary

S&C Electric Company works to build innovative solutions with the smart grid as a part of the electric power distribution system. We are seeking full-time Senior Software Engineer who would enjoy a fast paced, dynamic team-based work environment. and will work with team members based in Alameda, CA, Chicago, IL, or other remote areas of USA.

There is ample opportunity to prove your worth within an agile, communicative, and collaborative environment. You will be teamed with 3-4 other software engineers working at different USA locations to learn, collaborate, and complete a project that tackles real-world problems.

This project opportunity is within the DevSecOps team and may include Infrastructure Improvements, Building Artifacts, Security Scanning of Artifacts, Storing Artifacts, Deploying Artifacts, Researching new Services.

What needs to be done:
  • Work with cross functional team members (Dev,QA,Product Management,Project Management,Customer Support ) to coordinate the development/maintenance of Software Builds
  • Work with IT/Network/Cyber Security teams with Infrastructure
  • Follow best DevSecOps practices and work in an Agile environment
  • Have a proactive approach to improving the DevSecOps processes with every sprint
  • Learn the latest technologies and collaborate with your fellow team members
  • Work with team members to coordinate the development/maintenance of infrastructure
  • Work in Azure Cloud technologies
  • Participate in peer code reviews
  • Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code
  • Understand the overall infrastructure framework and architecture
  • Write technical documents, including architecture and system diagrams.
  • Create and present sprint demos at end of each sprint.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or similar education/tenure
  • Must have experience with Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins)
  • Must have experience running production software in Azure
  • Must have experience with Microservices architectures (Docker Kubernetes)
  • Must have experience with IaC frameworks (Terraform, Packer, CloudFormation)
  • Must have experience with Configuration Management (Rundeck or Ansible)
  • Must have experience developing/deploying system monitoring tools and alerts
  • Must have experience system level network configuration, routing, and firewalls.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
  • Experience in DevSecOps, and cyber security in general
  • Proficiency with VMWare, Linux, Windows Server, Artifactory, Git
  • Experience with automation jobs using Python/Perl/Shell scripting
  • Good at debugging and problem solving
  • Self-motivated in getting the tasks completed
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for documenting work
  • Experience mentoring team members to advance both technical capabilities and career development
