Job Description:

Parsons is now hiring an entry level Associate Traffic Engineer to join our growing Transportation group in Troy, Michigan!

Be a part of an established team, working on major area and state projects that positively impact and grow the infrastructure of the community around you!

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Perform a variety of transportation engineering duties and may be developing in a sub-disciplines of transportation engineering such as: highway, municipal/urban, and/or traffic engineering
  • Responsible for the development of engineering studies, computations, material quantity take-offs, estimates, surveys and designs
  • Under close supervision in the utilization of engineering theories and practices, develops the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements
  • Perform various engineering and design assignments requiring the application of basic principles and fundamental theories studied in a four-year university engineering program, and available data in the engineering field.
  • Provide support for other engineering activities as required
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

What Required Skills & Qualifications You Bring:
  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
  • Previous traffic/transportation related experience either in University coursework or prior internships
  • Requires basic process engineering knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering

What Preferred Skills & Qualifications You Bring:
  • Related work experience and/or internships
  • Working knowledge of traffic simulation software such as Highway Capacity Software (HCS) and Synchro
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate
