RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Governance Lead in San Diego, CA.
Summary:
The Data Governance Lead plays an important role in the organization by performing several activities related to the company's Dept function. The Data Governance Lead is instrumental in establishing and enforcing data governance policies and procedures across the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of data management principles, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The Data Governance Lead will collaborate with data stewards, IT teams, and business stakeholders to ensure data integrity, security, and quality. This individual will drive the development and implementation of data governance frameworks that support the organization's strategic objectives and compliance mandates.
Essential Functions:
* Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security
* Collaborate with data stewards, IT teams, and business units to establish data governance frameworks and best practices
* Monitor and enforce data governance policies and compliance with regulatory requirements
* Conduct data quality assessments and implement data cleansing processes to maintain high data quality standards
* Identify and address data-related issues, providing guidance and support to data stewards and business stakeholders
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to define domains and subdomains across the organization
* Work with the business to establish data owners and data stewards across the various domains and subdomains
* Develop and deliver training programs on data governance policies and best practices to employees and stakeholders
* Lead data governance committee meetings and working groups to drive data governance initiatives and priorities
* Maintain and update data governance documentation, including data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage
REQUIREMENTS:
* Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures
* Strong knowledge of data management principles, data quality, data security, and regulatory requirements
* Experience with data governance tools and technologies, such as data catalogs, metadata management, and data lineage tools
* Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex data-related issues
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey data governance concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
* Strong leadership and project management skills, with a proven track record of driving data governance initiatives
* Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple priorities
* Self-starter with the ability to adapt to changing requirements and work independently
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills plus demonstrate strong leadership capabilities
* Strong interpersonal and team building skills
* Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to learn/adapt to new technologies and techniques
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
* Highly organized and detail-oriented; Ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment required
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications required

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
